Collection Counters – These dedicated parishioners (usually ushers) account for the accurate and timely deposit of monetary collections at Mass. To volunteer your time 5-6 times per year, contact Dennis Hessel.
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) – Fondly referred to as “Chirp,” this spiritual retreat weekend is a great way to connect with other ladies of the parish and deepen your faith in a relaxing, comfortable, safe environment. CRHP weekends are led by parishioners who have themselves attended a CRHP weekend, so it is a great way to grow spiritually as a parish family. Daughters of Isabella – The O’Reilly Circle #218 had its first meeting on June 19, 1922! This female auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus meets regularly and sells desserts at the KC Fish Fries. For more information, visit the Daughters of Isabella webpage.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist – These lay ministers are commissioned to help with the distribution of Eucharist at Mass and to take Communion to the homebound and to the nursing home. For more information, contact Gloria Couvion.
FaithBook Discussion Group – This group of parishioners meets on Mondays at 10 am and 7 pm for discussion. For more information, contact Gloria Couvion.
Fall Fest Committee – As the biggest annual “friend-raiser” of our parish, the St. Mary’s Fall Fest is a family-friendly festival with inflatables, games, food, beer tent, performances, music, and wonderful fellowship the second weekend of September. Finance Council – This dedicated group of parishioners ensures fiscal responsibility and reporting of parish finances. For questions, contact Chairperson, Sarah Ray.
Ladies Guild – Open to all ladies of the parish, the Ladies Guild meets monthly and supports parish activities through fundraisers and funeral luncheons. Watch the church bulletin for meetings or contact Sue Certa.
Lectors – These lay ministers read scripture at weekend and holy day Masses. To volunteer to lector, please contact Gloria Couvion.
Meals on Wheels – The Main Street Community Center in Edwardsville delivers Meals on Wheels and always welcomes new drivers for the regular schedule or just to sub as needed. To get involved, contact the Center directly or contact Jack Gabler.
Ministry of Praise – This ministry unites parish members who are ill or homebound through their prayers for parish and world needs and for the needs of their brothers and sisters in the parish. For more information, contact Janet Foehrkolb.
Mom Chat – Mothers of all ages and stages are welcome to this group that meets once a month to visit, share, and pray together. Little ones are always welcome to tag along and play in the same room as the moms. For more information, join the Mom Chat Facebook Group or contact Susan Moore.
Parent-Teacher Club – The PTC is the primary fundraising organization of St. Mary’s School. All St. Mary’s teachers and parents are invited to help within this club to raise and allocate funds where best used at St. Mary’s School. To learn more, contact PTC President, Colleen Vrenick.
Pastoral Council – The Pastoral Council is an advisory council to our pastor. The members meet quarterly. If you are interested in serving on the Pastoral Council or would like to nominate a parishioner for consideration, contact our pastor, Fr. Dan Bergbower.
PSR Teachers – The teachers of St. Mary’s Parish School of Religion (K-8) are volunteers. If you feel called to serve by faithfully teaching religion class on Sunday mornings, please contact PSR Coordinator, Eva Duncan.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults – RCIA the path for becoming Catholic. It is an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. For more information, please contact Gloria Couvion.
St. Vincent de Paul Society – St. Vincent de Paul members are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. The list of services of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States is endless. No work of charity is foreign to the Society. To quote patron, St. Vincent de Paul, “Charity is infinitely inventive.” For more information on the local St. Vincent de Paul Society, please contact the parish office.
School Board – The St. Mary’s School Board advises the principal and pastor in the mission and operations of the school. Members are nominated and/or elected on a rotating cycle and meet monthly. If you are interested on serving on the School Board or would like to nominate a parishioner for consideration, contact School Board President, Kevin Thomas.
SCRIP – Buying gift cards for face value after weekend Masses and through the school office is like free money for St. Mary’s School! Please consider purchasing SCRIP for local and national restaurants, stores, and travel to use yourself or to give as gifts. To purchase SCRIP contact the school office, and to volunteer to sell SCRIP contact Laura Beck or Steffany Chleboun.
Ushers – Every weekend holy day Mass, St. Mary’s ushers keep the congregation organized. To volunteer for your preferred Mass time, contact Kyle Jackson.
Vacation Bible School – St. Mary’s VBS is an exciting part of the summer, and it requires many dedicated, energetic volunteers! Watch the church bulletin for planning meetings to start in the Spring, and contact Gloria Couvion to get involved.
